Baobab oil is made from the fruit seeds which are extracted and air dried in the hot sun. These seeds can be stored for many months before pressing. Baobab oil is made by a single, cold pressing process. A press, or expeller, ‘squeezes’ the oil from the baobab seed. The newly pressed oil is immediately filtered to help clarify the oil which is then bottled.
African Botanics uses Baobab oil across the collection for its excellent softening, healing and regenerating skincare properties: > Rich in powerful antioxidants which protect skin against free radical damage. > High Vitamin C content (6 times more than an orange) assists with skin elasticity. > Vitamins A and B firm, tighten and hydrate skin. > Omegas 3, 6 & 9 fatty acids help maintain the integrity of skin cell membrane.
Eye Cream This eye cream is great for anyone suffering from a case of the bags and sags, as I affectionately call them, or dryness around the eye area. You'll need the following:
6 teaspoons baobab oil (Since baobab can be pricy and less common in stores, feel free to use 3 teaspoons and substitute the other 3 teaspoons for jojoba or argan oil) 1 teaspoon of beeswax 5 drops of geranium essential oil 5 drops carrot seed oil
This eye cream should be the last step in your facial routine and used twice daily.
